The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

He said that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.
